Just before our eyes a whirlpool arose right beneath where the turtles had stationed themselves or were stationed by something else and they scattered throughout the surrounding water. Aqueous whitecaps charged in circles measuring that of a small trampoline in diameter. The water fell deep down somewhere into the unknown, under the visible riverbed of the Nile River. It was as if we had just created a miniature controlled tornado before our eyes. The aqueous vortex swished and swirled with extreme speed but never left its place of birth. It soared far below us making the earth shake a bit. Trigg lifted a nearby pebble and chucked it into the vortex with a flick of his wrist. As we watched in amazement, the chocolate colored pebble rode the waves on the edge of the eddy before our eyes. It was like watching someone make a “toilet bowl swirly” basketball shot, where the ball swirled on the rim of the hoop several times before actually dropping through the net. All of us sat and stared at what we could only believe that we created.

About the Book
One of sixteen-year-old Janiese Macbrell’s crazy dreams has finally come to life, and she realizes she has an important task at hand. She discovers that the seemingly ordinary Robert O’Riley—a budding teenage geologist—shares a part of her soul, and that soul could be in danger.
In their dreams, the two teenagers meet and begin the adventure of their lives. They are aided by Rick Trigg, an independent photographer and self-professed dream traveler who finds the meaning in dreams and then tries to determine what will happen next. The trio must find a way to stop the spread of a mysterious organism that has embedded itself into Robby’s body.
Embarking on a wild journey along the Nile River, the group discovers how difficult it can be to travel the deserts and rainforests of eastern Africa. Living off of bananas and indigenous creatures, Janiese and Trigg battle the elements, following the maturity of Robby’s soul. Janiese soon learns that she must make the crucial decision: Should she let Robby live? Or should he be left to die at the hands of an unknown being?
