Some vampires say that we were made from the devil himself, cut from the very core of his being. Our nature is the wish of his soul, to die, in order to kill for eternity. Others say that we were made by angels in heaven on gods' command. That we must be; for no other creature can see beauty in every facet the way that we can, to hear every sound the earth makes, to watch the humans live, and aid them in death, so painlessly and swift. That we live off the very life that composes them, we take their essence into us. Their life's fluid remains in us forever, mingling with all that came before them, and all that will come after. “These theories of angels and devils also tie into the theory of binding. Those who believe in the devil, think that we are bound to another after we show the first sign of weakness, which is love. Those who believe of angels, think that this was their ultimate gift, to love another vampire for eternity. Or in the case that we love a human, we'd be so deeply committed to them, that we could never hurt them.”

About the Book
Single and known for never finishing a romance novel, Laurie Wilcox is a creature of habit whose work consists of picking up after customers and helping them choose skimpy, yet still legal, outfits. In Fall River, Massachusetts, life is mundane to say the least—that is, until a handsome stranger walks into her store and changes her life forever. While the stranger pays for his purchase, his hand grazes Laurie’s. Suddenly, she is fed an image of a man with fangs who is about to bite. As he smiles and leaves, Laurie experiences a weird, almost déjà-vu feeling. But when the stranger returns and invites Laurie and her co-worker to a dance club, Laurie is disturbed. Something about Alexander Young is making her feel uneasy, but despite her worries, she finally agrees, opening herself up to new experiences and a potential romance. But when a part of Laurie’s life is put into question—as well as the people in it—she must decide whether friendship, life, and most importantly, love is worth all the sweet deception.

Lindsay Weigel loves being a stay-at-home mother to her two young children. When she is not busy caring for her family, she enjoys discovering new parts of New England. She currently resides in New Hampshire, with her husband, children, and dog. This is her first novel.
