About the Book
Here is Gary Whitener's story starting from the early ancestors back in the old country. The Whiteners were here when America was a new country, staving off its sometimes fierce native indians, forging new communities out of raw, rough land and sending their sons to the War for Independence and its tragedies. In a rollicking biography he tells of his humble beginnings in Long Beach, California, takes us through his boyhood pranks and the development of a hard-working, hard-playing boy up through manhood and its rewards.
