there may be three or ten witnesses to a crime but i guarantee you that all three or ten of them would have seen something different. we would never agree on what is seen, but what is known and repeated and therefore established is the word of god. in “that woman eve”, i wrote that eve should not worry when she is found by adam and he throws her away. if eve is of the spirit and adam is of the flesh, then what communion will they have with each other? if adam is foolish and eve possesses wisdom, in his foolishness he will pass over her because he does not know and neither does he recognize her spirit. so let’s bring in this important word; know or knowing.
the question that should be answered is do you know what you see? or is it that you see what you know? if you see what you know, then we have to ask what is it that you know? what is it that you have gained knowledge of and which causes you to see? therefore:
*if you know the lord, then you shall see him*
if you rely and therefore know your own strength, you shall see it*
this is what saul did. the mistake that he made at micmash with the philistines. you can look at a thing and not understand what you are looking at. but once you understand what you are looking at then you are seeing it. do you understand? let’s say before you on a table is a teddy bear that has been gift wrapped. you look at the object on the table. it looks like a bag with something inside of it and that’s that. no more. so the next person comes and he looks at the gift wrapped object and begins to contemplate of what exactly he is looking at. he begins to form a picture of what kind of object will have this shape and form and reaches a conclusion. he knows it could not be a baseball bat. he knows it’s not a telephone. so he reaches a conclusion that this object must be a stuffed animal but what kind? he goes back into his memory to what he knows. he knows the shapes of certain stuffed animals and comes up with another conclusion; that what he is looking at has to be a teddy bear; not a cat and not a duck. so this man looked at the object and saw the form and likeness of what he believes the shape to be and came to the correct answer.
the word says that saul erred when he disobeyed the lord and offered sacrifices to him, but saul erred way before that. he was on the throne for two long years and the lord left him alone. the lord did not make him do anything for him nor call him to anywhere. there was silence. what did saul do during this time? nothing. saul did not do anything. he did not chase after the lord. he did not worship. he did not seek the heart of god. he did nothing. nothing came out of his spirit, so what do you think went into his spirit? the lord said seek me where i may be found. saul already was given the keys to come up to the table of the lord and eat what the lord set out for him to eat, but again where was his spirit? where was his worship? he had nice and soft knees. he never got down upon them in reverence to the lord. if we were to look at david's knees, don't you know that they will be scarred and bruised? your knees and your heart are the most battered places on your body. saul did not seek the will of the lord as king of israel. he believed that just because he was anointed king, the buck stopped there, but he was wrong. in “that woman eve”, i wrote that a word is not to be feared, but a "dressed" word is to be feared. a word that is spoken to be obeyed means nothing. what kills dissension and disobedience is a word that someone has decided in their heart to obey and therefore nothing and i mean nothing can trespass when you surround yourself with this word. but where was saul’s word? where was his covering and protection and his heart? the lord said am i a god far away and not near? do you have to go across seas and climb up to the heavens to find him? no.
the word also says what you do in secret will be revealed in the light. you have to be careful and treat the things of god with respect. there is no other way. you cannot say the lord has called you to be a preacher of the gospel, an evangelist shall we say and yet you are sitting down and all you do all day long is eat and sleep and drag your feet. you have to get up and pray for revelation of his call upon your life. you have to ask and then seek the 3 wise men: wisdom, knowledge, and discernment. you should chase after his spirit. do not take the things of god for granted. the spirit is not only a looking glass, but a pool where you have to delve in and tell him what you see. the things of god are not superficial, but people who say they are called make for themselves superficial products of the spirit.
