About the Author
George Edward Weigel is the founder of Cedar Creek Research (development, processing and marketing of agricultural products) and a freelance writer specializing in nutrition and organic garden strategies to incorporate natural and biodiversity concepts without using dangerous chemicals. He has grown gardens of all kinds flowers, vegetables, fruit most of his adult life. He has studied and experimented in garden methods with a focus on high outputs without depleting the earth's resources or polluting the environment. George believes you should protect your health by living an active lifestyle. Eating natural foods for vitamin and mineral benefits is also important. Vitamins are essential to sustain life and we must get them from our foods and dietary supplements. Vitamins and minerals are necessary for growth, vitality and well being, "but they are no replacement for food". A vitamin or mineral has no caloric or energy value by itself. Its important to remember that there are six nutrients essential for energy, proper functioning of organs, utilization of food and cell growth: Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and water.
