About the Author
I have spent two years in organized Little League umpiring and during baseball season, I umpire two to three games a week. I have attended numerous umpiring clinics and am scheduled to attend a formal umpiring school. Little League umpiring allows me to interact with a large age range of kids who love baseball (as I did as a child), allows me to play a part in the growth and maturation of kids, and creates mental and physical activity that I would normally not have at my age. I live in Estero, Florida a small town in southwest Florida between Naples and Ft. Myers. I retired eight years ago after thirty-three years in the insurance business in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore, Maryland area. I am married, have two grown children, and enjoy golf, bass fishing, writing, drawing, and riding my motorcycle.
