For more than a century Lysander Heistad’s only companions have been other vampires who shun him for his refusal to drink human blood. Consumed by guilt over the death of his sister so long ago, he had believed himself doomed to an eternity of loneliness and regret. When he meets Anna Harper, a beautiful, lonely, fearless mortal who trusts him implicitly, he can hardly believe his good fortune. But as their newfound friendship grows, so grows his struggle to keep her safe, from not only other vampires, but himself as well.

About the Author

Michelle Tackes is from Watertown, Wisconsin, and is an English major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is a published poet, and came up with the idea for a story about a friendly vampire three years ago on her birthday {which, coincidentally, is two weeks before Halloween} because she has always had an interest in the supernatural. She is currently in the process of writing a second novel.
