THE ME FACTOR Like words divinely placed, I’m poetry manifest Like the bulging hillside, I too am the strong silent type; unwavering in my resolve A cracking of my heart like that of atoms belies many premonitions. Beneath the rugged walls of my volcano, truth, purity and perhaps Fractions of the cosmos are the seat of my essence Totally selfless and only selfish in time of assertion I’m the ink on these pages; the roots of plants and weeds alike I’m a must have; a necessity in this life. I am laughter, plus the curve of her smile I am good days and bad and as complex as contradiction – my profile Should I emulate the sun, it’s only because I admire what it inspires me to be Forever vigilant, watchful, comforting and quiet A provider of light in the hearts of mankind Should I imitate the wind, know that my end is to be seldom seen yet forever felt The many welts from life’s belt have hardened my bones Triggered an endless boiling of my blood, like the chemical reaction of an isotope So as my purpose is to conceive goals I cease to loathe, then witness my anger convert into a tool for betterment Becoming is what I am

About the Book
My purpose is to fulfill destiny’s lot of reaching that one person who in turn may reach ten thousand, who then may reach one million; I’ve been blessed with jewels and only wish to pay it forward. Cornflakes in My Water was written partly in tears, laughter, depression, as well as a hyper manic state, thus providing a unique, often in depth look into a troubled man. I think it’s an appropriate broadcast for the adolescent to the old timer providing insight in the toppling of obstacles; it’s an illustration of converting negatives into positives, or proven that it doesn’t require riches of a paper currency to allow those jewels resting in each of our hearts to shine. About me: I was raised in a single parent home by my mother who early on abused drugs. My dad, by contrast, works for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, though we’ve never met; at least not as father and son. As a juvenile delinquent, the Probation Department had a stern hand in raising me before handing me off to California Youth Authority and eventually prison. I always thought I’d end up in Hollywood jumping off a building. Though I’d always been acutely aware for my affinity for words, my passion for writing, I haven’t fully recovered from the shock of actually making it this far – spiritually. I no longer live for self but for the betterment of mankind
About the Author
Battling through adversity enabled me to clarify direction for my life and lead to my wanting to steer others from the same path. I currently reside in Northern California and am grateful to enjoy the support of family and friends in my endeavors.
