Conversations with My Son is a diary detailing actual candid words that were exchanged after Troy went into the hospital and chronicles how the final days changed his and his mother’s lives from that moment forward. TerryAnn and her son, Troy, collaborated on the book to help people experiencing similar situations. Their hope was to let others know that, although dying is scary and an individual process for each person affected, the most important aspect can be the love and caring between each of them. Readers will learn that it’s okay to be scared, okay to react in a manner they’re unfamiliar with and okay to often feel alienated and alone. More importantly, it is a reminder not to hesitate to ask questions, remember to hug often, allow the tears and laughter, and love one another.

A READER REVIEW... AWESOME !!! That is the only way I can describe your book, but I have to explain. It was hard to put down. I did not cry all the way through either. There were times the tears welled up, but I did not need the box of Kleenex. I did not find it depressing either. You were so very lucky to have that precious time. I do not get books often that hold me like this one. It was very well written. I hope that is a compliment since I'm not a critic. Even though I knew what the end was going to be the suspense was still there. I can't explain it, but it was like the book had a hold on me. I could visualize the house even though I have never been there, including the cow in the yard. I could even visualize your husband leaving for work and just being there. Troy's image changed as he got sicker. I wish I would have known Troy. It would have been an honor. To care for a terminally ill person is a commitment and one you never forget. But it does make you reflect on the good times shared. I can go on and on, but to sum it up.........It is a GREAT book. I think everyone should read it.
