About the Book

It was a beautiful day. There was fresh powder on the mountain because it had snowed the night before. Olympic hopeful Aubrie Mindock and her brother Austin were out flying down the mountain when all of a sudden Aubrie took a fall. She was thrown in the air like a rag doll. Her ski pole stabbed her in the lung, causing ribs to break and her to stop breathing. Seconds felt like hours and Aubrie laid motionless on the snow, fighting for air. Finally she was able to take her first breath but she was still not out of the woods. Aubrie's right knee was crushed, making it hard to get to safety. Find out how Aubrie saves her life and gets back up to the sport that she almost lost.

About the Author

When you purchase "Back Up On Skis" you will be helping save children from the streets. I am giving 100% of my book sale income to Colorado Uplift, an orginazation to for at risk youth. My goal is to raise $45,000 from book sales, which will save 4500 kids from gangs, drugs, teen pregnancy and a life on the street and help the children graduate from high school and go on to college. I am currently 25 years old and find it important to give back to my community. I was raised in a good home with a good family and I've seen kids who come from broken homes with no opportunity to succeed. I want to help youth who are at risk do something great with their lives so I am also donating ski passes to at risk kids through Colorado Uplift to give these children the opportunity to do something they have never done before. I am not alone in this journey to help kids survive. My parents are going to match what I make and send that money out to Colorado Uplift as well, with the hope of saving 4500 more children. You too can help by purchasing my book, "Back Up On Skis," and help a child not only get off the streets and out of gang life but also provide with the chance to get involved in a new sport and possibly even make it to college. My name is Aubrie Mindock and my mission is to save kids from the streets. With any questions you can email me at aubriemindock@gmail.com
