What happened to me is so very strange that I have hesitated to tell the story until now. I’m still not sure if I had a very real dream, or if I was transported to some other reality. What I am sure of is that the experience opened my eyes, and what I learned on my journey made the tale worth telling. I was twenty when my adventure started, but because fear is such a powerful motivator of silence, it has taken me fifteen more years to write about it. What was I afraid of? Being judged. Being ridiculed. No one believing me. Most of all, I was afraid of putting it on paper. The journey had changed my life, but as long as no one else knew about it, I couldn’t be held accountable for what I learned. I could go on pretending I wasn’t a powerful force in the world. I could sometimes forget I was responsible for every moment of misery I felt. My tale might be confusing to you, especially if you insist on reasoning out the where did I go and how did I get there. I assure you that clear answers to these questions won’t be found no matter how closely you read. These questions were equally confusing for me at the time, believe me. Not until I let go of needing to know the why’s and how’s could I even begin to navigate the path I found myself living. My name is Angelica McNamara. I was raised in Clarkstown, Montana, a town of about 10,000 people tucked into the foothills of the Rockies and named after William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame. It seems serendipitous that my exploration of the frontiers of consciousness would take place along the most famous trail of exploration in American history. The only more appropriate place might have been a rocket ship headed for deep space.

About the Author
Jean Montgomery, M.Ed. and her husband David live in a small community in central Montana. Jean has been an educator and professional counselor for over twenty-five years. She also co-facilitates summer workshops at a retreat center in the Absaroka Mountains. The Living The Leap retreats, designed especially for women, are devoted to physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing through energy work. The themes from her books are drawn from the lives of the courageous women who have attended these retreats. The title of her first book, published in 2002, is Games From Eden.
