“As for the particulars of running a farm, I am well versed with the enterprise so don't feel you have to lead me around by the nose and show me which end of a cow gets milked. I will meet with the Sheriff to iron out the particulars of my parole, not you.” Nick slowly backed Rio against the porch railing, entrapping her between his large arms. “Lastly Miss O'Bannon, I am not a rutting pig. I am quite capable of controlling my urges.” Leaning in, “I have resisted the charms of many women so don’t think I can’t resist yours.” Rio didn't think it was possible for Nick to get closer to her but he did. His breath warm against her lips. Swallowing, “oh dear, I never meant to insult you Mr. Pearson. I thought if we, if I, um...” She was babbling. An embarrassed blush appeared on her cheeks. “Call me Nick.” He kissed her.

About the Author
An avid reader and history student, Judith Iversen is a graduate of Michigan State University. She is the author of several published short stories and newspaper articles. This is her first full-length novel. A native Bostonian, Judith now lives in Bradford, Massachusetts with her husband Gary and three sons, Derek, Nathaniel and Michael.
