About the Book

Secret agent Ian Shaw dreamed of bombs destroying the London Olympics stadium to start a new Fire of London not knowing if it was a premonition or a warning. He forgot it until he overheard a plot to destroy the Eurostar inside the Channel Tunnel that eventually he stopped by reluctantly killing two bombers. Then he retired to forget his wife’s murder. He was recalled to translate Arabic documents so saving the London Barrage and starting the hunt for Abdullah’s Death to the Infidels and his wife’s murderer. Was there a link? He returned to Saudi Arabia to search among the Bedouin for Abdullah to trace him to France, England and Florida. It was a fight against a giant octopus with tentacles everywhere funded by drug money. He and his colleagues had to solve a jigsaw puzzle to find the terrorists before they attacked football stadiums and the London Olympics to kill or maim thousands. It was a race against time to destroy those people apparently living normal lives while waiting to wreak mayhem. Until they were eliminated no one was safe as all around death lurked killing everyone who opposed terrorism.

About the Author

I live in England after a career working abroad for various British Government agencies and as a free lance teacher. All my writing is based on what I learned from working for thirty years working around the world. My first novel was ‘A Paradise Lost the Jade Tree’ about Burma during 1943 based on my childhood spent there. The next novel ‘And None were Innocent’ is based on my life as a professor in Lesotho during the last years of South African Apartheid. In ‘Target: London 2012’ I attempt to show the risks England faces as it develops a world class Olympic Games while troubled by terrorist activity and bad immigration policies that allowed 1 million illegal immigrants to hide within Britain.

I have lived and work in Arabia to know their ways and respect traditional Islam that differs from that taught by extremists. The Bedouin I describe are traditional reliant on their herds and polygamist and in no way assumes that all Bedouin are the same because they are not, some like those in Jordan are Christians and others are more modern.

I have used a form of writing Arabic that may differ from others as it is difficult to transpose into our form of writing as vowels are omitted in Arabic script. The idea that the trade in opium and heroin pays for and fuels terrorist activities is well known from the regions around Afghanistan as it is from Burma, or cocaine from South America. The opium trade in Burma funded the CIA activities in Burma and Thailand until recently and was a major reason why when I lived in Burma the Generals broke off with the West. More recently the Taliban and others buy arms to destroy all Christian society using the money from selling drugs to an ignorant, drug dependent western culture
