About the Book

Author Matthew Crisafulli was just three years old when his father and namesake, Matthew A. Crisafulli, died in a tragic car accident on March 13, 1978. In this memoir, Matthew, the son, traces the too-short years of his father’s life.

Gathered from extensive family interviews, False Measures delves into Matthew Sr.’s past and describes the many demons he wrestled with most of his young life.

This memoir describes the love-hate relationship with his father, Anthony, in an abusive household; his enlistment in the Army and service in Vietnam; his struggles with substance abuse; his marriage to Susan; and his tragic death.

False Measures explains how demons from within one soul can affect many different people. Not only does this memoir honor the life of the author’s father, but it also shows how Matthew was shaped by his father’s demons and early death and how he will spend his life trying to fulfill his father’s dreams of peace, contentment, and tranquility.

About the Author

Matthew Crisafulli lost his father in a car accident March 13, 1978. He works in law enforcement and was recognized as the top drug awareness educator in Maryland. He and his wife have two daughters. Stephanie T. Dorsey works in administration for the Worcester County Public Schools. Stephanie has two children.
