The werewolf begins to circle around me snarling and flexing its claws. I position the spear in front of me and the advancing creature. If it wants to eat me it’s going to have fight for this meal. I can see the werewolf looking me over, its dart from one part of my body to another. It moves a little closer to me and slashes out with its claws. “Stay back,” I yell hoping to intimidate the beast. “What will you do if I do not,” the werewolf retorts. It takes me a moment to realize that the werewolf is speaking back to me. Trying not to show my surprise I just stare at the beast. The werewolf strikes without another word; it lunges at me trying a low sideswipe. I step to my left and jab my attacker in the back of its leg. It lets out a low growl of pain and turns to face me again. “I’m going to enjoy killing you human,” it snarls.

At a young age, Jake Jauch was fascinated by the worlds that authors can create with their words. This inspired him to become a writer. He wrote his first novel at the age of seventeen. He is attending college where he is studying creative writing. He lives in Addison, Alabama.
