During my depression, there were times that I did not think my prayers hit the ceiling. In retrospect, I know that God’s presence was there. He not only brought me through that valley, but He gave me a greater joy than before, and a greater dependence on Him. At various times, God has physically healed me as well as members of my family. He has had his hand of protection over me. He provided my financial needs at times that it looked like it was an impossibility to complete my college education. He was with me during my stroke, which had minimal after effects. He helps me to walk in victory in spite of my weakness, when I put my trust in Him. I have experienced more growth in the valleys than at the mountaintop.

Are you in a valley of rejection, grief, depression, ill health, or financial difficulties? There is hope for you.
As early as age two, I faced rejection from an alcoholic father. As a teenager, I grieved the loss of my mother. During depression episodes in my forties, there were times that I did not think my prayers hit the ceiling. In the prime of my life, I had two breakdowns, one with hospitalization. At various times in my life, I have desperately needed physical healing, protection, and provision of financial needs. A stroke in my seventies caused me to examine priorities in my life.
We all go through rejection and other valley experiences in our lifetime. God is present with us, even though we may not recognize it at the time. Learn how to put your trust in God, and let Him lead you through the valleys in your life.

About the Author Fern Florey Page grew up on a farm in the Midwest. She is a graduate of a two-year Bible School. She graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in business education and psychology. She has been a business education teacher and has served as secretary/bookkeeper in a number of churches. Fern and her husband, Bill, currently reside in Wichita Falls, Texas. They will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2010. Fern is retired and enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and fifteen grandchildren.
