CAUTION IS ADVISED Some sinister moments have come and threatened to strike Nature numb. We have to be wary, lest bramble or berry reduce us to absolute scum. MORE GUESSES Decidedly sad are all things except certain vibrant bright flings. We soon may be doing some very strange wooing that flaps like an old bunch of wings. ACADEMIC HEIGHTS To stay near the top of the class seemed easy for those who could pass. They sat in their corners and looked like suborners in search of some small bits of sass. SOMEWHAT MEASURING You seem to have learned how to shimmer and render the universe dimmer. Your elbows and feet are full of fine heat replete with the strength of a swimmer. SPECIAL TALK The jargons that cram human writing are almost completely inviting. Such marvelous words remind us that birds forever are frisky while fighting.

About the Book
120 "STANDARD" LIMERICKS is a sort of sequel to another book by the same author. An absolute wish could be that this compilation might offer decided stylistic improvements over its predecessor. Each included limerick consists of a couple of carefully measured sentences. Ideally those should seem about as contrapuntally interrelatable as the octave and sestet in very classical sonnet writing. Any such possibility depends on subjective aspects? Anyhow: an effort was made to produce some fun little texts.
About the Author
Bruce Hamilton, a rather solitary Californian, attended Yale College for two years. He assiduously has devoted most of his literary practicing to such basic pieces as limericks and sonnets. His recent "literary hero" was and still is Jorge Luis Borges, toward whose pessimisms about language and literature he remains sympathetic.
