The Time Is Now! The Choice is Mine! The time is up for playing around. Now it is time for me to stand my ground. It is time for me to stand out from the rest, By showing that I can do my very B-E-S-T, Best! Yesterday is of the past and tomorrow may be too late. So I will choose Now on this very date. I choose to be different, honest, and wise. I choose to shine like the stars in the skies. I choose to give others a hand up when they are in need. For I know the importance of doing good deeds. I choose to be respectful and kind. Because if I’m not I will get left behind. I have the power to decide. For the Time is Now and the Choice is Mine!

About the Author
Tacardra Benita Rountree is a native of Augusta, Georgia. Rountree is the daughter of Annie and Harold Rountree. She has two siblings, Katarro and Canedra Rountree. Rountree is an educator as well as a motivational and inspirational speaker. She loves to use words to encourage and inspire others. Her work appears in two anthologies, Moments of Reflection and Joy and Treasured Poems of America-Fall 1996 edition. Rountree’s poetry has appeared in the newsletters of educational organizations and has been read at various programs and conferences. She currently resides in Augusta, Georgia.
