About the Author

This book narrates a love story set in Paris between two English speaking people, an American Professor of History and an English lady who is an aspiring artist making ends meet by working in a London bookstore. They meet when she is on vacation in Paris and he doing an exchange teaching program at a unit of the University of Paris. I have lived close to eight years in Paris with frequent trips to the countryside as well as to Belgium and Italy, two countries visited by the lovers. They both like to flirt, and Chris the American briefly falls for a French colleague teaching in his college, and hence the title, Paris Triangle. I grew up in Virginia and did my BA at Yale. Then I entered the Air Force and got my wings as a pilot in the USAF. I loved flying and later wrote a hisrory of aviation, titled Mastering the Sky. In my last place of assignment as a pilot I met and married a lady and we married. We had three daughters and an interesting if sometimes stormy marriage. After that marriage ended I decided to write a book on the Vietnam wars. I started that book in 1976 and was able to get numerous spring leaves to research it and begin writing it in Paris. I met and married a French lady there and we had two more daughters. One of them lives in Paris and the other with her four sisters in America. After my Vietnam book I decided to write the history of aviation referred to above. It became my fourth book of nonfiction after two histories related to Chinese Communism and the Vietnam book. I retired from teaching history at Hunter College and then decided I would like to write some fiction. The submitted memoir novel is the result of that. Presently I live on the mid west side of Manhattan and see my daughters regularly. My lady friend whom I have known and loved for many years lives with her aged mother. But we love each other and see each other as often as possible..
