About the Author

1. This book is a memoir and I am qualified to write this particular book befcause I lived through it. 2. Most of this book took place over a period of one year, nine and a half months of the year I was married to a man who said he would shoot me. This statement prompted me to leave the house I'd lived in for over 38 years. 3. I, Geraldine McCall was born in Pompano Beach, Florida and grqaduated from Blanche Ely High School. I now live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I retired almost four years ago from the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, after 32 years of service. I am a member of First Baptist Church Piney Grove, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, where I work with various ministries. I am a lifetime member of the National Association of Colored people (NAACP), a lifetime associate member of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Alumni Association, Broward Chapter. I am the mother of three children, Wendolyn L. Reese, Beverly Y. Reese and Rodney B. Reese (deceased). I have nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
