About the Book

Many are tired of the ineffectiveness of their businesses and the inability to maximize profits. Some believe there is a connection between the general malaise of employees and business structures and performance. Years after the industrial revolution, the Hawthorne Studies, and the Scientific Management Theory of Frederick Taylor, we are still struggling to find ways to motivate employees to increase productivity. Theory after theory has made its debut, but they rarely take into account the philosophical perspective of executives and managers in their approach to organizations, therefore resulting in new wine in old wineskins. It is time to be bold and try something new! A Different Path, A Different Result presents a unique approach to increasing the bottom-line. It mandates a change in mind-set and promotes a philosophy of partnership. It is a New Consciousness model that contends that executive and employee goals can be mutually inclusive. It recognizes that employees are powerful, self-determining individuals, and has the core objective of creating a win-win situation for executives and employees. It guides you through a step-by-step process for implementation, and by embracing its philosophy it guarantees increased motivation, increased productivity, and improved bottom-line results.

About the Author

Cathy Archer has worked in the field of Organization Development for the past ten years. Having a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Development, she focused her consulting practice on organizational assessments. This led to her being called into a number of organizations to study employee morale challenges. She found similar themes that resulted in challenges throughout a number of the organizations she assessed, and feels that many of the challenges that executives face can be avoided. As a result, she formulated a new consciousness model that she feels work best in helping executives achieve their business goals through a more effective functioning of the organization. Her new consciousness model meets the needs of executives for bottom-line results, while meeting the needs of employees for independence and fulfillment at work. In her desire to help individuals over the years, Cathy Archer created and hosted a radio show entitled, “Success is Yours,” and published a weekly newspaper column entitled, “Performance Challenges? Ask Cathy!” These projects were designed to help businesses with human resources challenges and overall business development. She is now focusing all of her energies on coaching and writing. In her coaching sessions she guides her clients through her new consciousness approach, offers practical tips, and answers questions for implementing this model within their organizations. (For information on coaching services using Cathy Archer’s New Consciousness Model go to www.ADifferentPath.info ) She also has plans to publish more books in the ‘A Different Path’ series. Cathy approaches life from a metaphysical perspective, which colors everything that she does. The approach outlined in her book is steeped in a New Consciousness Philosophy. She believes that our philosophy of life cannot be packed away when it is not a convenient fit for the various aspects of our lives; instead, we should strive to always reinvent the way we live, if necessary, to reflect our personal philosophy in each aspect of our lives. She is committed to always seeking ways to have her life reflect her personal philosophy. Cathy is a part of a group called The Crimson Circle, which meets online monthly to discuss a New Consciousness approach to life. These group discussions have inspired her writings. She lives in both The Bahamas and Florida with her daughter Cristin, and she likes to spend her time writing and watching action movies.
