About the Author
Love Requited was written by Mamie Walker Cowser, the self published author of A Woman's Silent Screams, which was written under her former name, Mamie L. Harkless. She graduated with honors from Edgefield County Colored High School, Edgefield, South Carolina in 1963 and received her B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College, College Park, Maryland. One of her favorite subjects was Literature. Writing assignments developed her love for writing. Writing, for her, is a form of therapy. She enjoys writing fictional novels and uses this genre to entertain and to share some of her personal views on many facets of life with her readers. Love Requited is the direct result of many requests from readers of her first novel who were either coping with elderly parents suffering from Alziemer disease, romantics, or both. She writes from her heart. Mamie was born in South Carolina and raised in a small one red light town called Johnston. She is the youngest of ten siblings. Shortly after graduating from high school, she relocated to the Bronx, New York, was married, and lived in Queens for ten years. She moved to Maryland in 1976 after the death of her first husband. In 1996, she fulfilled one of her life's dreams and moved back to South Carolina. She is a retired Federal employee, has two children, one granddaughter, is divorced and resides in Columbia, South Carolina
