Curious

While driving to Rockland, Nevada on a lonely, crooked road, my mind kept drifting to the papers I received a month ago. Why would I be concerned if someone died that I didn’t know? I didn’t recognize the name and wondered if it was someone from my past? There were so many unanswered questions and my curiosity ran wild. Was it curiosity or was it just a desperate need to know more details? In Rockland I asked the local police department about the death. Matt Adams, a sloppily dressed officer, told me the case was closed and to keep my nose out of things that didn't concern me. Looking up at Matt, I knew I’d have a difficult time getting information. He had a square jaw like an old western movie actor. His pointed nose came in handy when he looked down it as he glared at me. This man didn’t even know me, what I wanted in town or how I might be related to this case. Being an officer, you’d think he’d be interested in knowing exactly what I wanted and why.
