I watched the man’s eyes. Pa had always said watch a man’s eyes, they will tell you what he’s thinking. I saw the twitch in his right eye and made my draw while stepping to my left. I felt the Colt buck in my hand and saw the red stain suddenly appear on the man’s shirt front. The man was thrown over backwards, his pistol falling from his fingers to the floor.

About the Book
Tom Swan is a young man growing up in the center of the Muscogee Creek Nation in Indian Territory. Taught by his father the art of handling a pistol he is led to a job of a shotgun guard for a payroll. As Tom becomes known for his abilities, a veteran U.S. Marshall working out of Fort Smith, takes young Tom under his wing to teach him about the right side of the law. They become a team to be reckoned with in the territory. He and his partner get into big business and big trouble where fast guns aren’t always the answer.
About the Author
A native of Oklahoma, Lonnie Magee grew up in the local rodeo arenas He is a member of the Muscogee Creek tribe. He resides at his ranch and runs his custom saddle shop. His other books include his North to the Tallgrass trilogy and Little Man's Dream
