The little boy on The Andy Griffith Show dressed in the cowboy outfit who offered passersby a bite of his sandwich was Clint Howard, Ron Howard's brother. Oklahome has more astronauts than any other state. One of the youngest mayors elected in America was 31-year-old Dennis Kunicich, Cleveland, OH. U. S. Highway 62 originates in El Paso, TX at the U.S.-Mexico border and terminates at Niagara, NY. It is 2,248 miles long. Kentucky Route 2259 originates in Frankfort, Kentucky's capital, and terminates after seven tenths of a mile. The sun sets in Barrow, AK at about 12:50 p.m., on November 18, and is not seen again until January 24. The largest living organisms on earth are in California-the Giant Sequoias. About 40% of all Buddhists live in southern California. El Paso, TX is closer to the California state line than it is to Dallas. The state of Connecticut recognizes aircraft designer Gustav Whitehead as "Father of Connecticut Aviation" for his research into powered flight in 1901, two years before the Wright brothers flew their plane at Kitty Hawk. About the Author
1. I have always had a great interest in geography, learning how communities and states relate to each other, and I love to look at maps. 2. A website seemed to indicate that Kentucky had more strange names than any other state. I was challenged by that statement and set out to determine for myself whether or not it were true. 3. I have lived in western Kentucky for 31 years. My wife and I have a son and a daughter. Both are married and live locally. I have been a minister of music, a Hospice chaplain, and a pastor. I have had a passion for journalism since college and decided that now is the time to launch out into the deep.
