About the Book

Why God gave me so little ability and a goal to improve mankind has got to be one of the funniest acts to follow in Heaven. Everything about me is just mediocre. Yet, at age 65, I am a living proof a good person can be average. Aristotle produced the Doctrine of the Mean which says the ideal is in the middle, avoid extremes. I wrote this quote: "It takes a good person to know a good person; unfortunately few know me."

About the Author

1. I have an AA and BS degrees. I spent 2 years in the Army and 36 years selling industiral tools to maufacturers in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. Working on the production lines of the largest companies in this region gave me lots of experience.

2. I have collected quotes since grade school. At the University of Maryland I had many on the wall of my dorm room. Buddies would leave additions, then we would have fabulous, philosophical discussions. I kept my collection on index cards in a metal box. One of my favorites from business is: "Life is a grindstone, whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of.
This is especially significant since my first ten years was with Norton Co. selling grinding wheels and sandpaper.

3. I am a Baltimore boy living in Bettendorf Iowa. I retired two years ago and live comfortably with my SS, investment interest payments and a younger wife who is still working with full benefits. I write, type and play golf. Five days a week I exercise at a gym to stay in shape. Also, I do part time work for a mediacl lab delivering specimens from a pick up point to a lab. Our family takes up many weekends. My son and daughter with their kids live three hours to the West in Des Moines.
