About the Book
If the antiques that are for sale could talk, the stories they could tell might be of much more value than the items themselves. Love at the Antiques Show takes such a format, telling the provenances of renderings in a booth at an antiques show. Most of the stories are based on actual experiences with some fanciful coloration. Tales of the frontier, early Texas living and sagas of the Great Depression all come together to provide enlightening and entertaining reading. The art of storytelling is exemplified as Robert Turner recalls the lifestyles, moods and manners of yesteryear.
About the Author
Native Texan, Robert Turner grew up in Methodist parsonages hearing various tales of frontier living and the Great Depression. After retiring from the ministry, he developed his antique business. His stories derive from both family histories and his curiosity about his antiques. Turner and his wife, Nancy, both native Texans, moved from New York and now reside in Dallas.
