I shrugged into a PFD on my way up the stairs, but I didn't bother to hook the clasps. In the dim light I made out my father and Mr. Sears lying prone on the deck, pools of darkness spreading out beneath them. I did not need to be told that the inky blackness was blood, nor that they were dead. I made a quick count of five other people standing on the deck, none of them being the captain or first mate. I opened my mouth to yell a warning, when I was grabbed from behind and thrown to the deck. "Kill 'im," a gutteral voice snarled.

About the Book

About the Author
Shane Aldrich lives in Middlesex, Vermont with his wife and two children. He teaches Junior High Language Arts at Barre City Middle School. He is a graduate of Mount Abraham Union High School and Lyndon State College. Erich's Time is his third novel.
