Who should become a CBSS?
If you desire or are preparing for a leadership role in your company’s behavior safety effort, if you are a member of a safety committee, if you have been actively participating on safety teams, or if you are hooked on safety, this training and certification is for you.
The CBSS is trained to:
- Improve communication between and among employees.
- Increase cooperation and teamwork.
- Identify techniques for improving personal work behaviors.
- Improve human performance factors through observation and feedback.
- Increase professional and personal responsibilities.
- Focus on “active participation” to increase safety performance.
About the Author
MICHAEL S. HARO, PH.D. Michael S. Haro is President of the Self Coaching Center, Reno, NV. With his wife Lynne, he moved to Reno in June 2004. Having lived in Houston, Texas for twenty-eight years, he taught at the University of Houston--Clear Lake, was a licensed psychologist in private practice, consulted and provided training to private, public, and government organizations. Dr. Mike designs and implements programs for Behavior Safety, Employee Development, Customer Service, and Human Error Reduction training. Seminar and workshop programs include: High Impact Behavior Training; Assessing Leadership Skills-Combining Boss and Coaching Skills; Conflict Management; Managing Difficult People; Pre-Retirement Life Style Planning; Managing Human Error Risk Potential; and Creating “Good Employees.” Dr. Mike retired his psychology license in 2007, and now focuses his efforts on a consulting and training practice. He has given himself the title of “Industrial Problem Solver – Behaviorist.” His current client list includes: NASA Johnson Space Center, Entergy (Transmission, Distribution, and Fossils Plants), Frontier Oil, Raytheon, Highlines, and Monsanto – Luling Plant. Self Coaching Processes for employee development, customer service, supervisor training, and team building are his specialties. He teaches “Managing Difficult People” for TMCC Workforce Development Continuing Education. Dr. Mike earned BS, MS and Educational Specialist degrees from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. His Masters and Specialist degrees are in Health Science. In 1976 he completed his Ph.D. in Counselor Education at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
