Sweet Bliss Hidden mystery lies in the grain of wood like the dark swirling surface of a distant planet a hint the intoxicating possibility of a smile that could change everything in the way blooming jasmine makes tangible the elusive still night air for no other reason than that I should breathe deeply in, not how a candle extinguishes itself but when every burning question is contently withdrawn.

About the Book
It is not years that measure and mark our lives, but moments; the individual events that mold our spirits and shape our destinies. In the course of our lives, like the branches of a broad tree, the situations we climb leave their signature on our hearts not only in that each changes us a little, but that each leaves us a little more sure of ourselves. I believe poems are short stories in the purest sense. These poems are the stand-out moments, the many stories of my life.
About the Author
Though an eager traveler, Chuck Rice still lives content where he grew up, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his beautiful wife, having been blessed with four sons and two grandchildren. The adventures of the outdoors; hiking and exploring, are some of his passions. Chuck’s poetry has been published by Florida Atlantic University, Iowa State University and Byline Magazine, in addition to appearing in many anthologies published by Cosmic Trend of Canada, with whom Chuck previously published one chapbook of poetry, entitled “And I Will Slay All Your Dragons”.
