About the Book
Why does an elected official after twenty-three years of active involvement as both a Village Trustee and Mayor want to write a book about his years in office? Shouldn't he rest on his laurels and not seek to create more problems by his retirement? Maybe it's ego. Maybe it's a way of leaving to his family a history of the village that he loved and served.
About the Author
Why am I qualified to write this book? The record will show that I served in elected office as both a Village Trustee and Mayor for 23 years. This represents the longest term as an elected political official in the history of the Village of Port Chester, NY. Winning in 10 elections also clearly shows my qualifications and the electorate's confidence in electing and re-electing me to continue in office. My understanding and recognizing my community's needs, by my close relationship with so many of my friends, gave me the focus that was needed top go forward. Interaction was needed by all citizens; seniors, young people and retired people whose care had to be addressed, which I did. I've lived in the same residence and have been a citizen in the Village of Port Chester for over 45 years. I had been active as an athlete in my school years and continued these sports efforts for many years after graduation. Serving on many charitable events gave me a close up to the many needs of our schools, religious groups and other needy charities. I have been married over 50 years with three wonderful children, three grandchildren and son-in-law. My life is really great.
