I Know You Don’t Understand -Is about a beautiful young lady life ending in a mystery. I prayed and cried for hours counting my blessing. Realizing how lucky I am to be alive. I ask God to use me to give her family some comforting words. Then I called out the beautiful young lady name and ask her to use. To let her family know how she feels. I wrote this poem within ten minutes without thinking. After I was threw writing this poem I became very weak and sick. I called my god-mother and ask her to call and check on me, because I was feeling ill. An hour later I felt better. I can’t explain to this day what happen. All I know it happens. Send This Letter To Heaven- A child waiting too late to let her mother know how she really feel about her. She writes a letter after her mother death for a last chance to let her mother know how she really feels. Poncho Shoes- Is about someone knows in order to move on into a new relationship. You need to step out of your old shoes and place some new shoes on your feet. In order to enjoy what’s new in your life. Our Little Angel Zee- It’s about a baby girl one year old named LaZaria Walker. I prayed to before I wrote this poem. When her mother read this poem she looked at me and asks me, how did I know? I replied, know what? She told me her song the Itsy Bitsy Spider to her baby. Then she placed LaZaria in her father arms. Her father held LaZaria on his chest above his heart. She passed away listening to her father heartbeat. I had no way of knowing. My Big Daddy Flower- Big Daddy ask me to write this poem for him a month before he passed away. He took a verse from the poem I wrote for my grandfather and took me to handle the rest. I could not understand why he felt his time was near. Big Daddy went to church one Friday night and said God has touched him. That God wants him to change his life. Big Daddy told me he is going to live for the lord. The Other Woman- It’s about a woman loving her husband trying to save her marriage. She faces what most women today face, Crack-Cocaine. Realize in the end that sometimes you have to let go and let the other woman have him. A Love Letter of Rainbow-This poem is dedicated to a wonderful man that was in my life for a moment, but that moment seems like a lifetime. I honor him with a rose and his name upon me for change my life and giving me a joy of happiness. My Angel on Earth- My mother died from emphysema. She had a doctor that cared a lot about her. Dr. Dale Goins went beyond his called off duty. He was her doctor and most of all a friend. God Angel Tin Soldier- It’s about a young man losing his life in an auto mobile accident three days before Christmas. I looked into his aunt eyes. I could feel the sadness. I prayed and ask God to give me the comforting words to ease some of the pain away. A Soldier Prayer- This poem is dedicated to SSG Carlo Montell Robinson and all the other Fallen Soldier that died in combat. SSG Carlo Montell Robinson died in Afghanistan while serving his country, January 17, 2009. U Somewhere- Is about a woman asking God to give her a sign why her heart is so broken. Then a man step to her minutes later after she had her moment with God. Within her heart she feel with God gave her a sign. Place My Shoes On For Me-Its about a young man saving people lives, but end up losing his life in the process. It’s about a young man learning the importance of his shoes. We learn the true meaning of the importance of a foundation of a single step to the ending of a footstep. What More Could I Say- Is about someone falling in love deeply and can’t find the words to say, because it no words on earth to express their love they have for each other. What Is Love- Is about expressing what love is through someone else eyes. If You Can- Is a poem expressing to a love. If they could reach inside their lover heart, look into their lover eyes and read their lover mind. To understand what love truly feels like. My Husband- Is about a wife writing a letter to her late husband. In the end she realizes how much they missed each other. Who Are You? - Is about a woman loving this man so deeply. She cannot let him know how she really feels about him for personal reasons. Still A Woman- Have you ever had a man to set you free to love another? This poem is about a woman enduring unbearable pain of a broken heart, but realize throughout it all. She’s still standing. Parrish Love- Have you ever lost someone you loved? Then someone special comes into your life. Save you from the bed being your best friend, sleepless nights, praying for a dream to come your way whenever you fall asleep. I Could Love You 110%- Have you ever had a man to ask you, could you love them 100%? Well you know us woman. We have to break it down and let a man know. Hey I could love you 100% and some. In The Name Of Love- Is about a woman wanting her man to step up to the plate. To recognize, who he really love? It Will Soon Pass Away- Sometimes a person have to let love go for many reason. Even though both parties agree to letting go of each other. It’s still painful and we cried together. Open The Closet For Me- It’s about a woman seeking advice from a mother, since her mother has passed away. Untimely Gift- This poem is about losing the love you ever known in an unexplainable and unexpected way. If I Can- Is about someone confessing their love in a deep soulful matter. Heaven Dreams-Is about love that had passed away, but came to his lover in a dream. To let his love know it’s alright to love again. Stanely Heaven- Is about a passing of a young man of an accidental death. Where’s The Little Girl? - It’s about a little girl that lost her way in life. Micheal Jackson- A Touch Of Heaven- Is a poem in honor of Michael Jackson. To let his family know that Michael is always there with them no matter what. Michael is truly a gift and will be greatly missed. I prayed to God to let Michael give me somecomforting words to his family and I believed God heard my pray.

About the Book
My book of poetry is about love, heartaches, honor to those that has pass on. In my life I have endure many heartaches. But I rise above it all. Have you ever had a broken heart and it feels like a knife is in your chest. It’s as if you can really feel the pain within your body. You have to go beyond that pain and reach down in your soul for understanding. Then you can heal. I can honest say that a lot of my poetry comes to me in dreams. I often wake up and a poem is in my mind. I go to my pen and paper and write. Sometimes it feels like someone is controlling my thoughts. I can take a statement and run with it without thinking what to write next. I pray before I write to give someone some comforting words. I often have my moment with God. God is the only one that understands me. When you are sincere and it comes from the heart. God with you 100% with you God knows my heart and the heart of others. Death is not a simple thing to get over. We know that person of love one is not hurting or suffering anymore, but it still hurts. We know that they have move on to a better place, but we still miss. If I can write one word or sentence for someone to feel that they are going to be all right. Then I want to keep writing till I can’t write anymore. I want to think till I can’t think anymore. I want to feel the love here and beyond. I want to know that I’m living for something and someone. To embrace a smile on someone face beyond that pain is all I want to do.

Jeanette Barker was born in Detroit, Michigan. Having lived in many places including California and Arkansas, she now resides in Texarkana, Texas. Taking inspiration from her mother, Ms. Barker has been writing since she was very young. This is her first book.
