About the Book
My mother's trials began when she was a very young child with her parents arguing daily in their home. The sudden death of her own mother was very devastating, and changed her own life completely. It was then that her love of God and His Blessed Mother began in earnest. She learned to pray, trust and believe in them. She knew she was never really alone.
Mother enjoyed her life to the fullest despite the difficult things she suffered.
Dancing and reading brought her a lot of pleasure. She was also second in her graduatiing High School Class. She loved acting in her drama classes and was told that she was good. A sense of humor was also present and is shown within the context of her story.
When mother reached her forties she developed a brain tumor which eventually disfigured her. Her thoughts and feelings are described here along with her descriptions of God's loving nature.
Her final trial was the dreaded Alheizmer Disease. She will describe in her own words how she felt when she realized that she had this disease.
God shows His goodness, compassion love and comfort throughout her life and my wish is that through my mothers story, the reader will also be blessed and comforted.
About the Author
I am qualified to write this story because I was a part of it. The information for the book was gathered from conversations that I have had with my mother throughout the years. Most of the context is derived from letters that she had written and also from diaries that she had kept. My siblings and my children contributed by recalling events and some of her favorite sayings. This book was written as a tribute to my mother. She was a very srong, faith- filled woman. Because of her good example and help, I have grown in my faith and have become a strong woman myself. I believe that this story will bring comfort and hope to the reader especially during these difficult times. It will show how, through many trials throughout her life, this woman never gave in to depression, temptation or alcohol. She instead grew in her love of God and his blessed mother. She was a constant good example for myself, my siblings and everyone she was in contact with. I live in the small town of Erwin, TN and have been married to my husband Ray for 21 years. I am a mother of five sons , a grandmother of five and also have one great-granddaughter. I was a chaplain in a hospital in MA for five years, and a minister to the sick in Florida for approximately three years. I have many hobbies which include playing the organ, line dancing, crafts, jigsaw puzzles and many more. I enjoy life and all it has to offer.
