I was floating, flying around the dancing lights, weaving around prisms and orbs of energy. Hazy ribbons of purple, green and gold streaked the sky around me. I was content. I could’ve stayed there forever, just watching. I saw a magnificent white orb collide with another. The pair pulsated as a single entity before separating. Both emerged more brilliant than before. I tried to follow one, but I wasn’t fast enough. I let myself drift. I knew, somehow, this was meaningful, but this wasn’t life. It wasn’t real. The whispers entered my ears and flowed through my body. I still could not understand their message, but they were so soft and beautiful that it didn’t matter. They washed over me like breath on skin and I welcomed them. I started to wake. I resisted. Reality offered little in comparison to this. Still, my body stirred. The lights dimmed. I was leaving my utopia and returning to my shell. As I hovered on the brink of waking I heard a distinct whisper over the fading hum of the others. It was clear. I could understand it. “Come back to me.”

About the Book
Do you believe in angels? Brooke Jacobs doesn't. Brooke is successful by outward appearances. She's young, she’s a doctor, and she has nothing tying her down. Kaylea May works as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room at a hospital in Southwest Washington State. She is a wife and a mother. Elo'esh is her first novel.
