It has the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere to relieve stress and make your day more enjoyable. C. Milton Kates is a graduate of West Virginia State University. Upon graduation, Milton entered the U. S. Army as a Second Lieutenant and served thirteen months in Korea. After serving for two years, Milton was separated from active duty and served for 27 years in the Army ready reserves and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Milton established his own business in Cleveland Ohio in the solar energy and environmental remediation industry in 1977. The name of the firm was Solar Universal Technologies, Inc. Solar Universal Technologies became a front runner in the solar business and environmental clean up practices. The company had offices in three states and the District of Columbia. Milton is married to Edna L. Kates and is the father of two sons, Stephen and Dwayne and two grandchildren, Jillian and Demarco. . Milton is active in many social organizations, his church and alumni association and has been elected as office holders in his church, his alumni association and many professional and social groups. Mr. Kates has served as president of his Cleveland chapter, West Virginia State University Alumni and First Vice President of the National WVSU Alumni Association. In addition to his alumni, Milton has served as Moderator of his church, Bethany Christian Church, past president of The Earth Day Coalition. Milton has also served as a Cub Scout Master, Past president of The Northern Ohio Minority Contractors Association, president, Wives/Husband Social Club, charter member and past president , Cleveland Council of Black Colleges and fifty year member, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Milton has also served on the board of managers of the East Cleveland and Glenville YMCA. Mr. Kates is also a past member of The Society of Military Engineers. Milton Kates is now retired and living in Auburn Township, Ohio with his wife Edna. They are now celebrating fifty two years of blissful marriage. Milton is still active in many social organizations and his church. Milton started writing poetry as a hobby approximately ten years ago and find it a great way to relax his mind and doing something that is most enjoyable. His poetry is a reflection of those individuals or organization that has been a part of his life and activities.
