About the Book
Poetry is such a personal vehicle for unleashing what is in the heart and mind. One literally puts their soul on paper and then cautiously shares their personal experiences. Each poem in the collection is original. All are the result of events which have come to shape the author's life. While most are in English there are two or three in Spanish and French.
The words will touch men and women of any age, straight and gay individuals, anyone who allows themselves to feel what is in their hearts....
About the Author
Since residing in Mexico, the author has begun to develop his spirituality and his creative persona. His first book, an autobiography entitled Not My Father's Footsteps was about coming out of a 38 year marriage. While completing that and subsequently having it published in 2005, he began to write poetry. For him the words on the paper came from Spirit above. He was only the transcriber!
The poetry reflects the joy and anguish of giving up everything he had ever known to pursue a new life in a new country where he did not know the language or the customs. Some poetry was borne out of his frustrations, but many evolved from meeting new people, undertaking new adventures, and, finally, falling in love again.
In the course of four years, the language became comprehensible; he warmed to the people and their customs, learned to overlook the faults of a developing country, and met a multitude of new friends who were able to accept him as just another human being.
These are poems with a meaning for everyone. They are neither straight nor gay!
The poems reflect the author's journey to where he is today....
