About the Book
If You are Me, then Who am I? Not a question we ever expected to ask
ourselves, until Identity Theft surpassed the world-wide drug trade to become
the largest crime in history. This book will take you beyond the glossy ads
and the television commercials and into the reality of being an Identity Theft
victim. There will be no men talking with women’s voices, no superheroes
coming up out of the concrete to save you, but you will understand that
your identity is about more than just your credit history. As a citizen your
personal information can be used in many different ways to harm you both
directly and indirectly, so the more you know, the safer you can be. If you are
a business owner, the government is now requiring your help in protecting
your customers, employees, and clients. We will help you understand what
you need to do inside your own business as well as what safeguards to look for
within the businesses you choose to patronize. Identity Th eft is like Alice in
Wonderland for adults. Welcome to a view through the looking glass.
