About three years ago, a therapist told me and my mom I had something called Asperger’s. What a Big word. And what did this word mean? My mom read much about Asperger’s. She talked to many doctors, and therapists to get information to help put together a team for me. All I knew was that inside of my head, it felt as if things were spinning around and I would get frustrated. I was told first that I had Tourettes; I would tic all the time. Sitting still was hard. I would get frustrated and angry. I would hit my mom, or I would throw things. I did not mean to, I just did not know what to do with the feelings that I was having inside of me. I call this part of the book “The Dances that We Do” because of the never-ending unknown of what our day will be like. With Aspergers and Tourettes it is a minute-by-minute change in mood. My hope in writing this part of the book is to be able to share with you, in simple everyday life, what it is like to parent a child with Aspergers and Tourettes. Also, I hope it will help give a clearer picture to those who may know someone that has Aspergers and/or Tourettes yet you are unsure or may be uncomfortable around them. If you are a parent with a child that has Aspergers and /or Tourettes, I hope you can to relate to our story, and for you to know that even though your life may be a bit crazy, you’re not!

About the Book
Living with Aspergers can be a difficult and challenging time for all who live in your home. It may also be hard for those on the outside looking in, and to have understanding. My son has AS, together we have wrote this book to give a better understanding of what a day is like having, as well as living with AS. In our home, we try to make it as "Simple" as we can. It is not always an easy task, but we try.
Come and share in our lives, as we share our story with you. There are days as the parent (caregiver) that we feel as if we are alone. You are never alone...
About the Author
I am a mother of three children whom I adore. Parker and I live in St. Paul. I dream some day of living in a community in Minneapolis. There, I hope to open a Center of Art for 'Special' children. I have enjoyed writting since I was a young girl.
