About the Book
I am living proof that no one can predict or determine their future. When a devastating illness strikes your family, in some cases, no matter what steps you take or how you plan you will have no control over the outcome. One day, out of the blue, my father was diagnosed with cancer and then just a few months later, my husband was diagnosed with cancer as well. Watching a father and a husband battle a fatal disease together was more than a family should ever have to endure. Despite all the doctor consultations and treatment plans, nothing would suppress this insidious disease. Although they both fought bravely and effortlessly for only a short time, they both lost their lives to cancer. My family and I endured a double loss, losing two family members, at the same time, only a few days apart. Our lives were changed forever and unfortunately, we learned the hard way that life is a precious gift which can be taken away at any time and should never be taken for granted.
About the Author
My qualifications to write this book is the fact that I have written a story based on the actual events and experiences of my life which includes a true and accurate account to the best of my recollection of many memorable situations, both happy and tragic, as is depicted in the book. My life experiences working outside the home include dealing with the public as well as my interaction and communications with many medical personnel due to the illness of my husband and father. This has afforded me the knowledge to be able to verbally convey my thoughts and feelings in a mature and intelligent fashion and conduct myself accordingly even under severe stress and adverse conditions. I have remarried and currently reside in Staten Island with my husband and daughter. I also have a son and and my husband has three daughters and a grandson. We have a beautiful blended family. We also have a Golden Retriever puppy named "Bella Mia" who we are planning to train as a therapy dog. We love to travel and experience different cultures and would like to be able to travel to Europe one day. To date, our favorite place is Aruba, where we have vacationed several times. It holds a special place in our hearts since it was our first vacation together, and also it is a friendly, beautiful country which has a consistent warm climate all year round. In conclusion, my wish is that my readers will enjoy and appreciate my book and hopefully gain some insight as to living and enjoying every day to the fullest.
