About the Book
WHO IS PETE SUSSMAN?
Pete Sussman is HAUNTED by strange dreams, FIXATED on relationships that have slipped through his fingers, and OBSESSED by the finality of death. On top of it all, he’s just quit his job and needs to go into the hospital for surgery. How’s he going to manage without CRACKING UP?
Maybe his coworker Lisa—a.k.a. “the Countess Lisa”—will help him…Or will she just reject him like so many others in his TUMULTUOUS life?
THE WOMEN
- the SEDUCTIVE classmate!
- the SULTRY professor!
- the calculating MISTRESS!
What part do they play in the life of a man
TORTURED by the nature of consciousness
and TORMENTED by the reality of a world gone completely INSANE?
Can they help him understand the weird dreams he keeps having about the New York World’s Fair--
or at least make sure he's safely under the covers before his SLEEPING PILLS kick in?
This eclectic collection of poems (some in fixed forms, some in free verse) is the sometimes funny, sometimes SHOCKING tale of a man preoccupied by the EDGES OF LANGUAGE and the END OF MEMORY.
Writer Herb Guggenheim doesn’t let up. He’ll wring every last drop of emotion out of you then go for more. The Further Adventures of Pete Sussman is a real gut punch of a read—a searing examination of the realities of modern life—a book you’ll be talking about for years to come!
YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!
