About the Book
Healing Hope addresses the many issues of Chronic Pain, including Advanced Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia and Spinal Stenosis among many others. Healing Hope offers hope and coping mechanisms in the form of physical, naturopathic and emotional measures in both living with and caring for the 76 million Americans currently dealing with Chronic Pain. It is the most undertreated condition existing in our world today. Its purpose is to educate, offer ideas, encouragement and hope for all. Healing Hope is a guide for anyone interested in learning more about the subject of Chronic Pain. Many books have been written by physicians and other professionals about the condition of Chronic Pain; however this author is living proof that one can attain many goals in a fun and adventurous manner.
About the Author
Lois Vogt Pike began writing poetry and music at the early age of eleven. She is the author of another book entitled "Embracing Life - Living with Chronic Pain", also published by iuniverse in 2005. Lois remains active in her community and is a member of the Litchfield Board of Ethics Commission. She is also the State of CT Representative for the American Pain Foundation (APF) and the American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA). Lois is a member of the Women of the World Forum Steering Committee and has been featured in recent news articles. She leads a monthly support group for Chronic Pain sufferers and caregivers. She is an avid fan of the UCONN Women's Basketball Team. Lois resides with her husband Wilbur L. Pike III, an Organizational Psychologist, in a fully restored farmhouse, which was constructed in 1820, along with their beloved cats, Ella and Tucker. The cover of the book shows Lois sitting in the center of a newly constructed 40 foot octagonal Labyrinth, which was built by her husband on their 3 acre property. It is a wonderful place to walk and meditate, which she does on a daily basis, weather permitting.
