Poetic Art is a book of poetry of a spiritual nature written by an author who thinks outside the box. I’ve assembled 117 of my poems into a book of poetry set in 14 categories. This book addresses many subjects of interest through a spiritual perspective. I have attempted to make this book uplifting and delightful to the reader. At the same time, I have tried to make it entertaining. I’ve attempted to create a literary work appealing to all kinds of people, not just to those who read poetry; to create a book of poetry which even those who don’t like poetry will like. A great effort was made to make my writing different from other poetry of today. It is my hope that I have succeeded.

About the Book
In this book of poems, you may think the author is an artist with words. He uses words and phrases like an artist uses paints and brushstrokes. With words, he paints the most pleasant images in your mind. His colors are his emotions which he puts into poetry so artfully. His shades are the dark, unwanted realities of life, which he so deftly balances with light, or thoughts of illumination.
One impressionistic poem, “Dream Music” (p. 12), gives you the same feeling as the most lovely impressionistic painting. It makes you wonder how he does it. Impressionistic poetry? He also writes expressionistic poetry, such as “Get Excited” (p. 29). Of course, he also includes other kinds of verse in this book of Poetic Art.
About the Author
George S. Hanna is a Romanticist poet who was born in Traverse City, Michigan in 1944. He grew up on a farm in a forest several miles from South Boardman, Michigan. He began at age 12 writing prose, songs, plays, odes, sonnets, his own philosophies, lyrics and other literary works. A very small portion of his life’s work has been compiled in this present volume of poetry.
