Is Yet Not The Time?
The floating ark,
The prevailing dark,
The break of night,
The spreading light,
The setting moon,
The rising sun,
The flying birds,
The grazing herds,
The tearing earth,
The trees’ birth!
By Him tearing the earth apart,
Who grows green and smart!
The rise and set,
The set and rise,
The start and end,
The end and start,
The hours slip into days!
The days into years!
The years of life!
Is yet not the time
To turn towards your Forgiving God!
Who created the earth and skies!
And all what in space there flies!
Is yet not the time
To turn towards your Kind God!
Who featured you in dense dark!
And put in clot the soul and spark!
Is yet not the time
To turn towards your Merciful God!
Broader than the earth and sky!
Who awards the Paradise High!
One Dawn
Atmosphere pleasant,
Dark sheet with crescent;
Third part of night,
Stars twinkling bright,
Eucalyptus-rows along the road,
Dark clumps of shishum, broad,
The sandpiper’s mysterious voice,
Locust makes continuous noise,
Fragrance finds the way through minds,
Remembrance of Heaven and its kinds.
Baggage on backs, walking on;
The caller calls toward the Throne,
They wash, and while praying, they pour
Tears in front of the Merciful Door,
Before it shows the blue face,
Revealing the Almighty’s Grace.
With hearts in peace and peaceful souls,
They step again toward their goals.
Two pairs of towers in between,
Clay and brick-built houses seen,
“O Allah, bestow blessings upon us!”
Each one praying enters thus.
Thames My Friend
On a sunny summer eve,
Rowing in river and walking on banks
Hundreds passed, hundreds crossed…
Saw so many but not a friend!
On a bench along the bank
I waited awhile and waited long,
And then suddenly saw so many –
Swimming in water, fish my friends,
Rowing in river, ducks my friends,
Singing in trees, birds my friends,
Flying in skies, goose my friends,
Flowing with strength, Thames my friend!
Days passed, weeks and months,
On a dull winter eve –
Once again alone was me
And flowing in dark, cold Thames water;
The fish hidden, the ducks gone,
The goose flown, the birds gone,
Those who rowed in water gone,
Those who walked on banks gone,
What could Thames tell about anyone else?
Thames own warm waters gone!
Dust
The hearts when dead
The souls then sad;
The devil sets
His notorious nets;
The evils bought,
How many caught?
The life looks long,
The wishes become strong,
The sins taste sweet,
Interior dark, exterior neat!
The mind full of tension
For money and mansion;
The fame at heights,
The name in lights,
Forgetting the flaming flame
Pursuing the wealth and fame!
O ye who follow the heart!
This world was dust;
This will be dust;
The dust you will become
Inside the dust!
Christ
Brings live from dead, and dead from live!
Brings light from night, and night from light!
Rules He makes, and rules He breaks!
Praise be to Allah who needs not help
In the earth and skies, and universe vast!
No parents, no siblings, no progeny for Him,
On His own, He is Alone, and Absolute!
The Creator of clusters, big!
The Creator of creatures, live!
The Creator of Jesus the Christ!
Wisdom He revealed upon the son of Mary
To call the people towards the Exalted One,
Everyone’s Lord – the One Glorious God!
Blind he cured, and dead he raised
In the name of God who has no son!
And spread the light – the light that lasted!
Messenger of God like Muhammad and Moses,
His message they conveyed across the world,
And brightened belief of billions for millenniums!
Some did obey, and some did disobey;
And some transgressed beyond humanity,
And tried to put him on the cross!
But their plans were dashed as God raised him alive!
Those who obeyed, Peter and disciples,
The message they conveyed in the name of God –
The One and Only God …
The Lord of Ahmad and Moses!
The Lord of John and Jesus!
