Roxy arrived at her apartment, took her parents’ letters from her handbag, and put them in her bedroom dresser drawer. After that, she was too tired to do anything but wash her face and climb into bed. She fell into a deep sleep, and in her dreams, she was back at Linda’s flat. She walked into the kitchen. There, sitting at the table, was her mother, Janelle. Her mother was smiling, looking healthy. “I’m all right, Roxy,” she said. “Mom!” Roxy could feel tears running down her cheeks as she reached across the table to touch her mother’s face. Janelle smiled at her daughter; her eyes were sparkling as they often had, and Roxy could feel her happiness. A bright light shone from the back entrance of the kitchen, and in walked her father. “Kitten!” he called to Roxy—his pet name for her. A warm smile spread across his face as he reached out to her. Roxy moved quickly toward her father, hugging him and crying more tears of happiness. She could feel him. This can’t be a dream, she thought. Jake held her tight and whispered, “Remember your mother’s last words to you, Kitten: everything will be all right … but in its right time.” Roxy began to pull back to look up into her father’s eyes, but there was another flash of light, and he and Janelle were gone. Roxy shot straight up in bed, yelling, “Mom! Dad!” She sat up, fully awake, sure that she was not dreaming. Yet the room was dark and silent. Could they have come back? Was it just a vivid dream? It felt like hours before she could fall asleep again, and when she did, she had no dreams at all.

About the Book
Roxanne Gavric's parents both passed away on the same day, five years apart, January 23rd, within the same hour. Her father, Jake died first and her mother Janelle died five years later to the day within the same hour. Roxanne, their youngest daughter, believes that her mother held on for that exact date so that a portal would open and her father could come back for his one true love.
While closing the home where she and her two sisters grew up, Roxy comes across the letters her father wrote to her mother when they were young adults, newly married and temporarily living apart. Reading these letters and having lost faith in love, Roxanne yearns to know more about her parents’ younger years.
She travels back to her parents’ hometown of Sharon, Pennsylvania, on the anniversary of their death. Minutes outside of the city, a car accident occurs leaving her unconscious. She awakens in Sharon hospital and soon realizes, somehow she has made her way to the year 1946. Once there, she meets her parents as young adults and begins a journey that will lead her to her true destiny.
About the Author
Kathleen Shapona, a native San Franciscan, was inspired to write In Its Right Time: a story of destined love from events in her life. This includes the passing of her parents on the same date, within the same hour, years apart, and the discovery of love letters from their youth left behind. A small business owner, she continues to write in her free time.
