About the Book

Martin Kimbry is a kind, gentle man and a brilliant scientist who is madly in love with his wife, Mavis, and she with him. When he discovers a new wonder drug that gives new vitality and youth to people suffering from heart disease, the future holds fame and fortune—until his conniving boss, Charles McLogen, threatens Martin with blackmail that will compromise Mavis’s reputation. Martin believes he has no choice but to protect his wife and let his boss take full credit for the discovery. McLogen embraces the accolades that follow, but the real results of taking credit are wholly unexpected.

About the Author

The late Albert J. Elias was born in Woman’s Hospital in Manhattan September 21, 1920 (he always said “the same year as the Pope”). He attended PS165 until his parents worried about his English and transferred him to McBurney Prep, where he graduated as president of his class. World War II interrupted his stay at the University of Virginia. He was only there long enough to play a little football. He enlisted in the service in Washington, D.C. where his sister Jane was living. He went from basic training at Fort Belvoir to Engineering Officers Training School. After graduating as a second lieutenant, he headed to Africa, England and the D-Day invasion of Normandy as an officer in the amphibious engineers. After Normandy, he had two weeks leave and returned stateside and married Rea. (More details about this part of the story can be found in his book, She Was Eighteen and a Half, published by iUniverse). At the end of their one-week honeymoon he returned to his outfit, which was an important part of the invasion of Okinawa and the occupation of Korea before the Korean War. He spent a total of three and half years overseas. Upon return to civilian life, he progressed from Macy’s training squad to the pharmaceutical business and ended his career in that business as the President of the Pharmaco Division of Schering Plough. Elias also served on many boards, including United Cerebral Palsy and North Shore Hospital. After his retirement, he started a new writing career. He has had two books published by Dell and Avon in America and the Hamlyn Group in England and the Edicioness Publisher in Madrid. His two newest titles are She Was Eighteen and a Half and Option for Murder. He is the father of two sons, Albert and the late William, three grandchildren, Vanessa, Ben, and Jon, and sadly never got to know about Stella Rose, his great granddaughter
