About the Book

This book is the insight to the recovery of an addict. At least through my own personal experiences. This is a story of sorts that will take you through a journey of my mind. It includes things I wish I would have said to my family to my own personal obstacles I had to overcome. If you are in recovery or know a close personal loved one that is, this book will mean all the world to you. Even if you are not in recovery my poems are my deepest most inner thoughts and are loved by everyone I have let read them. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. About the Author

My name is Richard McIntire, but everyone calls me David. The title of my book is Reflections of My Recovery. This is a book of poems that describes my thoughts and feelings during my recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. I grew up in a small town environment in Redkey, Indiana. Which Im sure you've never heard of. In a small town there is not a lot to do other than drink alcohol and get high. This is what we did, well as I grew I did not grow out of my bad habits and as the years progressed it got worse and worse until one day it got so bad I had myself commited to the psychiatric ward at our local hospital. It has been a long and hard road for me, and my family. Which you can see from my poems, which to me are little stories or peices of my life. So if you are currently in recovery or are a family member to someone who is these poems should mean a lot to you. At least I hope they do, and even if you are not in recovery I hope you enjoy my poems as they are my inner most feelings. Thank you for reading my book and have a blessed life.
