About the Author

Pat Jobe makes the outrageous claim in this book that he is writing to save his own life. "Falling In Love With Everything," chronicles a conversation between Jobe, a lay speaker in the Unitarian Universalist Church, and a fictional second-degree black belt in Karate and Unitarian Minister, who challenges the need or good sense that might be found in falling in love with everything. This is Jobe's fourth book. His previous three are "The Best of Radio Free Bubba," and "The Return of Radio Free Bubba," both of which are collections of radio commentaries which he coauthored with other public radio commentators. The books were published by the Hub City Writers Project at Hubcity.com. His novel, "365 Ways To Criticize The Preacher," is published by Smyth & Helwys at Helwys.com, and is in its second printing. "The Best of Radio Free Bubba" is used as a freshman composition textbook on several university campuses.

Jobe has won six first place writing awards from the NC Press Association, The School Bell Award from the NC Association of Educators for writing about education, and the Martin Luther King Award from the Charleston, SC City Council for community service. He was a volunteer commentator on WNCW radio in Spindale, NC for 17 years. He lives with his 86-year-old father in Forest City, NC, and spends as much time as possible with his son Luke. They have a cat named Rose. He is a former United Methodist minister, a political activist, a former newspaper editor, a singer-songwriter, an after-dinner speaker, an advocate for battered women, and a pizza delivery guy. He makes his milk and bread money selling advertising in Rutherford Weekly and The Shelby Shopper. He blogs at patjobewrites.com. He is in love with everything.
