About the Book
An enthralling collection of poetry that looks back to the images that were, and in many respects, still are the pages of Americana. It will stir the senses from the smell of salt-sea air to the touch of snowflakes on a western trail. There are verses that reveal the power and beauty of the oceans and the men who lived and worked on the sea. Some poems will make you tingle and others cause a smile and chuckle. Lovers nestle in one another's arms and speak of everlasting love…some with eloquence…others a bit awkwardly. A trip through gardens and nature's paradise awaits. The cowboys will take you back in time when life was tough and sometimes a cowboy's only friend was his horse.
About the Author
Davey Lee George has had an affinity with the sea since childhood. He went on to serve in the United States Navy for twenty-seven years. It was in his later years that the solitude and wonder of fishing along the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay stirred his poetic soul. He has twice been nominated for Poet Laureate at Omar's Cowboy Poetry Website and he hosts an AOL Writers Club forum: Poetry II, Cowboys.
