About the Book
Final Days pays tribute to the tenuous and halting process of moving on from one phase of life without being able to progress to the next quite yet. In a series of poems and short prose pieces, Xan Nowakowski reminds older readers and warns younger ones that endings are seldom synonymous with relief as she explores her own inner vacancy in the last weeks of her high school career. Desperate for a change yet oddly dissatisfied every time she gets one, Nowakowski experiments with a wide slew of styles and topics, forever searching for a consistent source of fulfillment if only on the page.
