About the Book
Daniel Kroff’s adventure to be an artist found himself on a ranch in Central Florida. Bought old man Ed’s black cowpony. Daniel, only fifteen and a half years old, became known as the Kid. The old man takes a liking to him and teaches the Kid to cow punch and shoot his .22 rifle straight. This becomes handy when faced with a rattlesnake that’s ready to strike some lumberjacks setting up a sawmill. Rounding up cattle, mending fences, finding calves in palmetto patches and messy job of doctoring those that had screw worms. Also to face Ace Scoggins and his boys, who were enemies of old man Ed. The Kid had to conquer the tragedy of Black Hammock. These things he did not expect on adventure to be an artist.
